About
Bark is an 8000+ square foot, indoor/outdoor, full-service dog recreation center located in the heart of Virginia Beach close to Town Center (at the corner of Rosemont Road and VB Blvd). We offer dog daycare, overnight boarding, DIY spa tubs, bathing and nail trims by our team, and private or group gym rental.
Bark is locally owned and operated by a team of Virginia Beach women who have a combined 70+ years experience in animal care. We take pride in being knowledgeable about animal behavior patterns and in what’s best for your canine companion. We work with a long list of animal specialists in our local community to include, veterinarians, behaviorists and licensed veterinary technicians.
Bark has a large indoor facility with several options for private and group gym rental. Whether you’re an individual looking to spend some quality time with your pup or you’re a member of a Rally Group who wants to set up a course to practice before competitions, we have the space for you! Need a place to practice on agility equipment? We have that too!
Dog Daycare and Boarding
Daycare: You and your dog will be delighted by the clean, safe, and inviting daycare playrooms that Bark has to offer your furry friend. Not only will your dog have fun playing with other dogs, he will be getting a lot of exercise and special activity time with the Bark team. This makes for a much calmer and happier dog once back at home with you. Do you have a fur-friend who needs a small play-group? Maybe your baby only enjoys the company of a friend or 2 and/or a member of our team of trained pack-leaders. Bark has the space to customize what is best for your baby. One play-group, one play-style, one play-size does not fit all at Bark! We pride ourselves in having the space to make individual decisions for what provides the BEST day for your pup while in our care.
Bark has 4 indoor playrooms and 3 outdoor play-yards that are equipped with large play structures the dogs can run over, hide under, and play on. Animals are supervised with a 1 to 10 team member to dog ratio by staff who are trained and knowledgeable in animal behavior and care. Your dog will play and participate in guided activities during the day, with opportunities to rest mid-morning and early afternoon. Built into the day are plenty of fresh air and potty breaks outside!
Overnight Boarding: Health, safety, exercise, and loving care are our main goals. You can rest easy knowing your baby will have a home away from home at Bark's new overnight facility. Our "beach cabanas" and "bungalow" resting quarters are designed with the same cozy, clean, and inviting materials as your own home. We offer luxurious rooms designed specifically for one dog or your entire pack. While your dog enjoys activities and play during the day, he will have a comfortable place to lounge and sleep at night. Overnight care for all of our guests will be individualized, based on your baby's specific needs and daily routine.
Our brand new facility has 2 private bathing rooms with spa tubs professionally designed with you in mind. We have everything you need to make sure your bathing time in our facility is safe, easier on your back, and stress-free for you and your dog. We can accommodate all dogs from a tiny Chihuahua to your Great Dane. Bark provides a variety of quality shampoos, conditioners, brushes and rakes for all coat types. Drying your baby is a breeze with built-in, forced air dryers and plush towels. Does your dog need a nail trim? Our Bark team can do that for you! And when you are all done, we clean the mess! Would you prefer we do ALL of the dirty work? Bark Team Members offer bathing services by appointment!
Affordable Veterinary Services of Virginia (AVSVA) was developed with the concept of providing high quality veterinary care at an affordable price. In an effort to provide such services, they operate in a manor that is different from a traditional veterinary hospital/clinic. They are not a full service veterinary hospital, they are walk-in only and do not make appointments. They offer vaccines, basic diagnostic testing (heartworm tests and feline leukemia tests), heartworm and deworming medications, flea prevention and other WELLNESS services. And by limiting what they offer, they are able to keep our operating costs down so that they are able to pass that savings on to you, the pet owner. They do this without compromising the quality that you would expect for your pets' health care.
